High frequency chargers
Characteristic of a primary switching charger (a so-called HF charger) is that the charger works with a significantly higher frequency than mains frequency. The higher the frequency, the smaller and lighter the transformers and choke coils, making for smaller and lighter chargers. Our product range currently includes two types of HF chargers. The smaller SMC charger and the MTM-HF.
The SMC is adapted to battery size and type using a rotary switch on the panel, while the MTM-HF has the same charging programme as the MTM thyristor and is programmed using a keyboard and a display.
