The companyOur core activity since the start in 1984 has been marketing, developing and manufacturing chargers for tractionary batteries.
The Micropower-group consists today of seven (7) companies with a total turnover (2008) of almost MSEK 200 (M€ 20,8).
The group employs 139 people (2008), of which 28 are located in Salo, Finland.
Micropower E.D Marketing is certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Products
Micropower´s products are found in many countries around the world. The product range consists of both conventional chargers and high-frequency chargers.
We collaborate with most battery manufacturers in developing optimal chargers for their different batteries.
Besides our standard range, we develop chargers in small series for
special applications. Our specialty is chargers for AGV systems, but we also make chargers for the most diverse areas, such as an amusement park in Japan, a gold mine in China and a shrimp trawler in the North Sea. We also have chargers for military use.
The chargers can be used for practically any brands, types or sizes of battery. The entire product range is CE-marked and some types are UL-marked.
Development
The Micropower-group maintains two research and development centres; one in Växjö and one in Salo, Finland. At these centres, chargers and charging specifications are developed and tested by experienced engineers. In both locations, EMC measurements can be conducted, and in Växjö there are also facilities for testing the chargers in different environments, such as cold, heat, damp and different voltages and frequencies.
Both of the development centres continually conduct tests of different batteries and different charger brands. We do this so that you the customer can be assured that you have access to the latest operational technology.
Manufacture
The Micropower-group includes three production companies - Smålands Elektronik Industri AB, Tramicro Produktion AB and Powerfinn Oy. The Micropower-group has over 8.000 m² of production and storage space at its disposal in Växjö and 1.400m² in Salo, Finland.
We manufacture transformers and choke coils ourselves at Tramicro Produktion AB. Here we also all our winded units to our conventional (50 – 60Hz) chargers. Some of our winded units for our high frequency units are also produced here.
SEIAB, our second production company, has an electronics department with new, modern SMD assembly equipment, a wave soldering machine and an automatic potting machine used for manufacturing of IP 65 chargers. In the assembly hall, qualified personnel manufacture Micropower’s chargers, which after final testing are delivered to Micropower’s warehouse.
Powerfinn Oy develops and manufactures high-frequency chargers, most of which are microprocessor controlled. Powerfinn also has modern SMD assembly equipment. Since we have full control of the manufacturing process, we can offer products of high quality.
Sales
The Micropower group manufactured and sold more than 64.000 chargers during 2008. Among our customers are truck and battery manufacturers. We have approx. one month’s production of the more common types of chargers in stock, which makes for short delivery times.
Customers
Our principal customers are truck manufacturers in Scandinavia, manufacturers of AGV systems in Europe and the USA and battery manufacturers and distributors in Europe. We also have many big, important customers in Hong Kong, the USA, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan.
